Susan Hunt will not be able to refile a lawsuit against Saratoga Springs Police in the 2014 shooting death of her son, Darrien Hunt.

In a ruling Monday, U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell said Susan Hunt had not presented new evidence or arguments that were unavailable to her in February, when Campbell ruled that Hunt would have to accept a $900,000 settlement agreement with Saratoga Springs.

Susan Hunt had said she did not agree to the settlement because of a nondisparagement clause it included, and she argued that she should be allowed to proceed in her lawsuit because she had not authorized her former attorney, Robert Sykes, to make the deal.

Campbell in February ruled that evidence showed Susan Hunt had agreed to the deal.

Darrien Hunt, 22, was pursued by Saratoga Springs officers who shot and killed him in September 2014 after a 911 call to police reported a man carrying a sword in the city.
