A Utah man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Nevada late Wednesday evening.

Juan Carlos Gallo, 21, of Wendover, Utah, was traveling west on Airport Way in West Wendover, Nev., about 10:30 p.m., according to a news release from the West Wendover Police Department.

Gallo drifted to the north side of the road, overcorrected across both lanes of traffic and left the roadway to the south, where his sedan went through a fence. The car then vaulted and came to rest on its top, the release states. Gallo, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
