A man with a gunshot wound in the abdomen tried to flee West Valley City Police on Tuesday afternoon.

The man was found on Beaver Street (3030 West), police said, and was described as being "uncooperative."

The man tried to flee police when they tried to help him, said police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. He told police he got into a fight with someone and was shot, she said.

Because the man was not cooperating, Vainuku said it was hard to know exactly where the shooting occurred or if it even occurred in West Valley City.
