A Salt Lake City warehouse had minor damage after a fire spread to the structure from outside the building Friday night.

Crews responded to the Hexatron Engineering warehouse at 1998 N. Redwood Road (1700 West) about 11:20 p.m, said Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay.

Firefighters extinguished a fire outside the building before discovering it had spread to the ceiling of the warehouse. The "pretty small fire" inside was quickly contained, Asay said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and a cost estimate for the damage was not immediately available.
