The 54-year-old woman hit by a truck while crossing the street in Bountiful died from the injuries one day after the crash.

Cheryl Engh Card, of Bountiful, was walking east on 100 South at about 10:25 a.m. Monday, according to a news release. As she was crossing the intersection of 200 West, a truck turning left onto the street struck her.

The driver told police he did not see the woman; he stopped, attempted to help her and called police, the release states.

The woman was transported to University Hospital with critical injuries, where she died Tuesday.

Police continued to investigate the crash, but do not suspect the driver of the truck was impaired.
