Police were looking for at least one suspect in connection with gunfire that broke out just as fireworks began during Pioneer Day celebrations at Salt Lake City's Liberty Park Monday night.

The incident reportedly began around 9:30 p.m. during an apparent gang-related altercation between two groups of youths near the flagpole in the center of the park, located at 600 E. 900 South.

One male sudden ran from the groups, then turned and fired several rounds, one of which grazed another male's leg. The wound was minor enough that the victim drove himself to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Police detained several people, who had jumped a fence into the nearby Tracy Aviary, for questioning. The shooting suspect, however, remained at large Tuesday.
