Traffic was at a standstill in Little Cottonwood Canyon on Thursday evening due to a vehicle fire in the eastbound lanes.

Unified Fire Authority crews responded to a station wagon that was on fire just after 4:15 p.m. at about 8471 E. Little Cottonwood Canyon Road, UFA spokesman Eric Holmes said.

No one was injured, and no buildings were threatened by the fire, Holmes said, adding that he did not believe any of the surrounding vegetation had been affected.

Traffic in the canyon was not moving for a time, Holmes said, but cars were slowly moving a few minutes after 5 p.m.
