Police have "serious concern" for the safety of a 15-year-old girl who purportedly ran away from her Eagle Mountain home more than two weeks ago.

Kaylie English was last seen on June 21 at 9 p.m., according to a Utah County Sheriff's Office news release. English reportedly left a note telling her parents to not look for her and was supposedly staying with a friend. Police have not been able to identify who that friend might be, the release says.

On July 1, investigators got a tip that English had boarded a bus at a Salt Lake City station headed to Reno, Nev., but police have not confirmed the sighting, the release states. English has distant family members in Reno, but police say it is unlikely she would contact them.

English is 5 feet 6 inches tall and 96 pounds, has shoulder-length brown hair, hazel eyes and braces. Police believe she is carrying an acoustic guitar in a case with a "newspaper-like design."

Officers do not believe English was taken against her will, but they say she has no resources with which to support herself.

Police ask anyone with information to call 801-794-3970.
