Several major-but-temporary road closures and lane restrictions are scheduled in coming days for freeways in Salt Lake and Utah counties.

The Utah Department of Transportation says that includes:

• Interstate 215 is scheduled to be closed in both directions near 600 South in Salt Lake City on Sunday at 7 a.m. for about 20 minutes to allow Rocky Mountain Power crews to hang new power lines across the road.

• Interstate 80 in Salt Lake City will face lane restrictions overnight each night this weekend.

Between 1300 East and State Street, eastbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane and westbound lanes will be reduced to three lanes beginning about 8 p.m. each night for pavement repair.

• The ramp from southbound I-215 to eastbound State Road 201 is scheduled to close for up to 30 days beginning Monday at 1 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes such as I-80.

Crews will reconstruct the ramp in that time as part of the I-215 reconstruction project.

• All northbound lanes will be closed on Interstate 15 at the 1400 North interchange in Springville beginning Monday about midnight. They are expected to reopen by Tuesday at 2 a.m. Crews are scheduled to install the crossbar for a new overhead message sign.
