The pair police called "somewhat of a Bonnie and Clyde" was booked into jail after allegedly robbing about 25 Salt Lake Valley restaurants.

The man and his ex-wife took small amounts of cash as they hit mostly pizza eateries over the past two weeks, said Sgt. Ryan Shosted, of Cottonwood Heights police.

Officers tracked down them near 7800 South and 900 East on Thursday afternoon after they left a pizza shop in Cottonwood Heights, Shosted said. Police attempted to catch them at a traffic stop, but the pair fled the scene.

After a short chase, police brought them, each in their 20s, in for questioning, Shosted said. They were booked shortly after. The pair had a fake gun, matching the weapon that was used during the robberies.

Though no one was injured in the crime series, Shosted said holdups affect employees emotionally.

"It's really scary people who make decisions like this," he said.

Shosted was unsure how much money the pair collected in the robberies, but he said it was "not a lot."
