Several buildings in Washington County were threatened by a fire that began Wednesday in a shed in Pintura, spreading along the eastern edge of the community.

The fire began about 5 p.m. near Interstate 15, 31 miles from the state line, county crews reported. As of 9 p.m., it was burning 10 acres and threatening eight homes and five outbuildings on the eastern side of the highway.

Exits 31 and 30 were closed briefly, but had reopened Wednesday night, county crews said. No one had been injured.

Investigators do not know how the fire began.

The Tribune will report further details as they become available.
