An accident closed down northbound lanes of Bangerter Highway in West Valley City Friday morning, and two people were reported injured.
Public safety dispatchers say the two cars crashed at 5:54 a.m., near 5400 South.
Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell said the injured were transported by ambulance to the hospital in serious condition.
The highway was reopened to normal traffic as of 7:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
