One man died Monday after a crash on Interstate 15 near Murray, police say.

At about 2:30 p.m., a truck was pulled off on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes of the freeway near 4800 South with a flat tire, when a car drifted to the right and collided with the truck, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.

The car's 77-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to a UHP news release.

The truck's 35-year-old male passenger, who was inside the vehicle with the driver during the crash, was taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, and the 30-year-old male driver was not injured, the release said.

Investigators found no signs of braking or evasive maneuvers.

Police are withholding the deceased man's name, pending family notification.
