Summer has definitely arrived in Utah: The weekend forecast calls for sunny skies and highs in the 80s and 90s along the Wasatch Front, with St. George sizzling as the thermometer climbs to 100 degrees-plus.

The expected high on Saturday in the Salt Lake City and Provo areas is 90, the National Weather Service says, while the temperature will top off in the 80s in other northern Utah locations.

Sunday is predicted to get a little hotter, with highs ranging mostly from 90 to the mid 90s.

In the southern part of the state, highs in St. George will be near 105 on Saturday and near 106 on Sunday, according to the weather service.

The Utah Division of Air Quality expects the air quality in St. George and the rest of Washington County to be "moderate" on Saturday.

On Sunday, the particulate pollution levels in the county are expected to make the air "unhealthy for sensitive groups," or elderly people, very young children and those with compromised cardiac lung functions.

The air quality in Salt Lake, Carbon, Davis, Duchesne, Tooele, Uintah and Weber counties is graded as moderate on both Saturday and Sunday. Utah County's air quality should be moderate on Saturday and good on Sunday, while Box Elder County is expected to have good air quality on Saturday and moderate air quality on Sunday.

Cache County, the state's remaining air quality monitoring location, has healthy air ratings for both days.
