Salt Lake City police are hunting for three "persons of interest" in the shooting death of a man whose body was found dumped in a parking lot in neighboring Cottonwood Heights last week.

Detectives already have two male suspects booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. On Wednesday, they asked the public to be on the lookout for 34-year-old Jamie Clarissa George and two unidentified males in connection with the slaying of Mauricio Martinez, 31.

Martinez's body was found by construction workers last Friday morning in the parking lot of the Mountain America Credit Union branch at 6440 S. 3000 East. Police say he appeared to have been shot to death during a botched robbery, but they would not reveal other details since the investigation is ongoing.

The male suspects were spotted on security cameras where Martinez was believed to have been killed — the 1000 South block of Redwood Road in Salt Lake City — hours before his body was discovered.

One of the men was described as white, in his 40s, about 6-foot-1 and 190 to 210 pounds. The second suspect was believed to be either Polynesian or Latino, with long, braided hair, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, and about 175 to 185 pounds.

SLCPD Detective Greg Wilking said Marco Antonio Garcia, 26, and Jorge Arturo Castanan-Serrano, 34, both Mexican nationals, were arrested late Sunday. Probable cause statements note that both suspects acknowledged having set up the victim for a robbery, during which he was shot.

Anyone with information on this case or the whereabouts of the persons of interest should call SLCPD at 801-799-3630, or anonymously text 274637, using the keyword TIPSLCPD.
