A trailer being pulled by a dump truck on Interstate 15 detached Tuesday on the southbound exit at Pleasant Grove Boulevard and went down an embankment, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The trailer, which had suffered a mechanical failure, was stopped by a concrete ledge before it could fall on the freeway below, UHP says.

The incident, which occurred at 3:11 p.m. at milepost 275, closed three lanes of I-15 until the trailer was pulled back up to the roadway.

All lanes were open as of about 5 p.m.

No other vehicles were involved and there were no injuries, according to UHP.
