Searchers found the body of an Ogden man in Pineview Reservoir on Thursday, nearly two weeks after he was last seen, according to the Weber County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay said investigators are confident the body is that of 39-year-old Joseph Adam Shultz.

Deputies have said Shultz may have committed suicide, but investigators are treating his disappearance as a missing-person case with suspicious circumstances. An autopsy is pending.

Shultz left his home May 13 after an argument with his wife and spent the night at his mother's Harrisville home, according to a sheriff's office news release. He left about 6 p.m. the next day without his cellphone and wallet and had not been seen since, the release says.

On May 16, his car was found near the Pineview Reservoir spillway with the back window smashed, apparently with a softball-size rock, according to the news release.

The release says investigators found an empty pill bottle and an empty brown bag that appeared to be from a liquor store inside the car. The broken window is not believed to be related to the disappearance.

Deputies and search-and-rescue teams had conducted several searches since Shultz's disappearance and located the body about 12:45 p.m. Thursday just off the shoreline near where his car was found.
