Nominations are due Wednesday for the 2016 Class of the Utah Softball Hall of Fame, which is part of the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Department.

Induction ceremonies will be July 8 at the Larry H. Miller Softball Complex, 4350 S. 1300 East.

The committee, whose chairman is former Page Brake coach Wes Haymond, is looking to induct six people in each of the next two seasons. After that, the annual induction class will be reduced to four new members, said Fred Tamagawa, former county parks and recreation director and longtime promoter of its softball program.

Currently housed in the department's sports office in Murray Park, the Hall of Fame is open to individuals in a half-dozen categories of association with the game, from players, coaches and umpires to scorekeepers, sponsors, administrators and members of the news media.
