A judge has sentenced a Cedar City man to prison for his role in "aiding and abetting" the 2014 slaying of another man.

Eric Albert Rodriguez, 31, pleaded guilty in March to one count of first-degree felony murder in connection with the death of 44-year-old Shawn Multine.

On Tuesday, 5th District Court Judge Keith Barnes ordered Rodriguez to a prison term of 15 years to life for the crime.

Rodriguez is the third defendant to plead guilty to playing a part in the murder. He originally faced additional charges of aggravated burglary and obstruction of justice, but those counts were dropped by Iron County prosecutors in exchange for his plea.

Multine was shot and killed on Oct. 21, 2014 at his Cedar City home by Angelo Seth Carrasco, whose ex-girlfriend, Clarissa Bulletts, had claimed she had been molested by Multine, who was her stepfather.

Carrasco pleaded guilty in December 2015 to one count of aggravated murder, admitting to fatally shooting him.

He now faces a prison term of either 25-year-to-life, or life in prison without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced on July 29.

Bulletts also pleaded guilty to last year to one count each of second-degree felony manslaughter and obstruction of justice, admitting that she "recklessly caused" her stepfather's death. She was sentenced in December to terms of one to 15 years on each charge.

Iron County prosecutors said Bulletts drove Carrasco and Rodriguez to Multine's home on the night of the murder, giving Carrasco the high-powered rifle she had been keeping in her trunk.

Bulletts tried to lure Multine from his home via a text message. When that failed, Rodriguez tried yelling for Multine to come out, which also didn't work.

Carrasco then broke into the residence and fired the gun.

Police have said that after the shooting, all three fled the scene in Bulletts' car. Rodriguez also allegedly helped dispose of the rifle.
