An 18-year-old motorcyclist died early Thursday from injuries he suffered when he crashed in a West Jordan roundabout.

Police Lt. Reed Motzkus said the West Valley City man was driving east on 8200 South shortly before midnight on Wednesday when he entered the roundabout at 6000 West, hit the curb, fell off the motorcycle and slid into a fence post.

The man — who was not wearing a helmet and suffered head trauma — was taken to University Hospital, where he later died, Motzkus said.
