A crash in Spanish Fork Canyon early Sunday evening left two adults critically injured and three children with minor injuries.

At about 4:20 p.m. the Utah Highway Patrol received a report of a Jeep that was allegedly driving recklessly through the canyon on US Highway 6, headed from the Price area to the Spanish Fork area, said Sgt. Jacob Cox.

At about mile post 184, five miles up the canyon, the Jeep lost control, rolling off the side of the highway 300 feet down a steep embankment. The jeep was carrying two adults and five children, Cox said.

Two medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene, to transport the driver, a 24-year-old woman and a 36-year-old passenger. The other passengers, a 9-year-old, an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old were transported via ambulance to a hospital.

Traffic was restricted in both directions for 30 to 45 minutes as the crash was cleaned up, but all lanes are now open.
