Passing motorists pulled a driver's body out of a burning car Wednesday on Interstate 84 in Weber County.

Brent M. Fullmer, 61, of Layton, died at the scene, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said.

Fullmer was driving a Cadillac Escalade east on I-84 about 6 p.m. near South Weber when the vehicle left the road and struck a bridge, Utah Highway Patrol reported. The man wasn't wearing a safety belt, Royce said.

The Escalade caught fire, prompting passersby to stop and pull the man's body out of the vehicle.
