The body of 72-year old Salt Lake City woman, who had been reported missing on Sunday, has been found alongside a Wasatch Mountain foothills trail near her home.

Police had issued a endangered and missing person alert for Becky Lewis, who had been last seen about 2 p.m. Monday, near 500 East and 14th Avenue.

SLCPD Detective Greg Wilking said Lewis' remains were found just before midnight by officers as they were making a routine, late-night check of the trail.

Police did not reveal the suspected cause of her death, other than to say it did not appear to be suspicious in nature.

The body was turned over to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
