Draper police on Friday issued a missing person alert for a 52-year-old man last seen on April 17.
Police said Frank Joseph Verucchi left his car and identification at his Suncrest development residence. They suspect he may have taken a hike in the Corner Canyon area — a favorite activity of his.
A check of his cellphone shows it has not been powered up since April 20, police said.
Verucchi is described as white, 5-foot-5, between 170 and 220 pounds, with brown hair and glasses.
On Friday, searchers were looking for him in the Corner Canyon area, aided by a helicopter, police said.
Anyone with information about Verucchi is asked to call Draper police at 801-840-4000.
