Tooele City police are asking the public's help on locating a man who fired a gun at another man in a convenience store parking lot early Thursday morning.

At about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the 7-Eleven store at 975 N. Main Street on a report of shots fired.

Officers learned from the 32-year-old victim — who was not wounded — that he had been in an argument with another male and a female in the parking lot. According to witnesses, the male and female left the parking lot in a white Pontiac car and while doing so the male driver pointed a handgun at the victim and fired a single shot.

The Pontiac left the gas station and had not been located as of Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified by officers as 38-year-old Vernal Wright of Tooele.

Police said Wright should be considered armed and dangerous, and the public is encouraged to simply call police with any information by calling Tooele County Dispatch at 435-882-5600, or text "TOOELETIP plus your message" to 274637 (CRIMES).

Wright is described as white, about 5-foot-9 and weighing 240 pounds. He has tattoos covering his hands and arms and on his head and neck. His head is shaved and he has a goatee.
