Farmington • A Davis County pediatrician who pleaded guilty to downloading and sharing child pornography will spend a year in jail for his crimes.

Taylor Steven Jerman, 35, pleaded guilty in March to two charges of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor, while six other similar charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

On Monday, 2nd District Judge Michael Allphin ordered Jerman to serve a year in jail and probation for three years.

According to charging documents, police investigating child porn files being shared online traced downloaded files to Jerman's Clearfield apartment.

After serving a search warrant in October 2014, police found hundreds of child pornography images on the pediatrician's personal computer, charges state.

Jerman had worked at the Intermountain Healthcare Clinic in Layton for less than year before he was suspended when charges were filed in November 2014. His license to practice has since expired, according the Utah Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing.
