Police are hoping the public will help them locate suspects in a Wednesday morning armed robbery at the Sandy Stop Gas Station.

Sandy police Sgt. Dean Carriger said the holdup occurred about 7:15 a.m. at 7820 S. 700 East.

The suspect — described as a white male in his mid-40s, clad in a plaid flannel shirt — entered the store, approached the clerk with a handgun, demanded and received cash. He then fled, jumping into a late-90s model white Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a Hispanic female.

Witnesses also told police the pickup had an "elk horns" sticker on its rear window, and that its front driver's side tire did not match the other three, possibly being a spare.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Sandy police at 801-568-4636.
