Break out the umbrellas — the National Weather Service is predicting a wet weekend in Utah.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected on Saturday and Sunday in central and northern Utah, as well as the southern part of the state.

In southwest Utah, including St. George and Zion National Park, locally heavy rainfall will bring some threat of flash flooding on Saturday, the weather service says.

These unsettled conditions will continue in Utah through Tuesday, then a colder storm is expected to approach the state on Wednesday and persist through Friday, according to the weather service.

Along the Wasatch Front, highs in the 60s are expected over the weekend, with the thermometer dipping to the upper 30s to 40s. The St. George area will see highs around 70 and lows in the upper 40s to about 50.
