A 48-year-old Colorado ski instructor lost control on an advanced-class run at Park City Resort, hit a tree and died at the scene over the weekend.

The Park City Police Department said the victim crashed about 10:20 a.m. Saturday. Ski Patrol and emergency workers were unable to revive him.

Police did not immediately release his name, but The Aspen Times identified him on Monday as Hansi Brenninger, of Aspen.

Brenninger was a full-time ski instructor at Aspen Mountain ski resort. He reportedly was vacationing in Utah with his son, Max, at the time of the accident.
