Four men have been charged in Uintah County after a 9-year-old girl reported to police that she had been gang-raped.

Larson RonDeau, 36, Josiah RonDeau, 20, Jerry Flatlip, 29, and Randall Flatlip, 26, have all been charged in 8th District Court with one count each of first-degree felony rape of a child and first-degree felony sodomy upon a child.

All four were expected in court on Tuesday for initial appearances.

The Uintah County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a statement that all four men had been arrested and booked into the Uintah County jail.

Police were notified two days after the alleged March 27 episode, according to charging records, after the 9-year-old girl told her mother that had been sexually assaulted while they were spending Easter weekend at a home near 1000 South and 2000 West in Vernal.

The mother told officers that she had taken her daughter with her to the home to spend the weekend with her friend, whom she met while incarcerated at the jail, according to a probable cause statement. Four other men were also staying at the house, the mother reported.

At some point on March 27, the mother left her sleeping daughter on a couch and went to the garage for about 30 minutes to get high on methamphetamine, she told officers.

When she returned, her daughter was upset, and told her she wanted to go home, according to the probable cause statement.

Two days later, the girl told her mother that the four men raped her while the woman was in the garage. The mother subsequently alerted police to the alleged assault.

The 9-year-old later told investigators that the men woke her up and took her to an adjacent bedroom, where she was sexually assaulted. One man allegedly threatened to kill her if she told anyone of the assault, investigators wrote in court papers.

During interviews with police, all four defendants denied sexually assaulting the girl, according to charging documents.

The alleged victim has been removed from her home and placed in the care of state Child Protective Services, according to the sheriff's office.
