Springville police are looking for a man who allegedly hit and injured two of their officers with a stolen car.

On Saturday morning, police were investigating a call about a suspicious Nissan parked in a driveway in the 800 east block of Hillcrest Avenue. An officer saw two men "fidgeting around" in the vehicle and ordered them to put their hands where he could see them, according to a Springville police news release.

"He said the pair refused to do as instructed, and instead began to drive toward the officer," the release reads. "The officer repeatedly ordered them to stop, but they continued forward, hitting the officer until he was able to move out of the way."

The driver pulled out of the driveway and hit a second officer, according to the news release.

The first officer who was hit suffered injuries that "appeared to be fairly minor," but the second officer was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center with "more serious injuries," the news release adds.

A few hours later, investigators found a man who an officer identified as the passenger in the vehicle. Police also found the vehicle, which was reported stolen earlier in the week, still running in a nearby driveway.

Police were still looking for the driver of the vehicle and have identified a person of interest. People with information about the case are asked to call the Springville Police Department at 801-489-9421, or their local law enforcement agency.
