Utah soon may have an official state hashtag — after one of the shortest debates ever.

The Senate voted 23-1 to pass SCR18, and sent it to the House. It would make #Utah the official state hashtag on Twitter, and also make #VisitUtah the official hashtag for Utah tourism.

It's sponsor, Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, gave a very short speech as it came up for final passage. "Here's my presentation: #PleaseVoteForThisResolution."

No one else spoke, although a few senators did cast votes by saying, "#Yes," or "#No."
