A late Monday night collision in Clearfield left two men and a woman dead at the scene.

Clearfield police Lt. Kelly Bennett said the crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of 10th West and 300 North.

A westbound 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 30-year-old Seth Wolf, of Clearfield, is believed to have run a red light at high speed and broadsided a southbound Kia Sedona driven by 37-year-old Damon Udy. Udy's wife, 34-year-old Sophia, was a passenger in the minivan.

All three were killed instantly in the collision, which propelled wreckage 150 feet away. Emergency responders had to use powered equipment to recover their remains.

Other than the victims, there were no other occupants of the two vehicles. However, police said a small dog riding in the minivan survived the crash.

"There was a smell of alcohol and open containers in [Wolf's vehicle] indicating alcohol may be a contributing factor to the accident," Bennett said, though he stressed that the accident remained under investigation.
