Police are searching for a man who carjacked a Utah Transit Authority truck early Monday in Salt Lake City.

Officers were called to a fight about 1:30 a.m. near 155 E. 200 South and stopped two men who were driving away from the scene, police wrote. As police investigated the stopped car, the passenger of the car got out and ran away, police wrote. Witnesses said the man used a handgun to hold up the driver of a UTA truck, police wrote.

The man drove the truck away; police found it Monday afternoon near 1300 W. Pacific Ave. Officers have made no arrest in the carjacking. However, the man who remained in the car at the scene of the fight was arrested on suspicion of a firearms violation and several outstanding warrants.
