An avalanche temporarily reduced traffic in Logan Canyon to one lane on Monday afternoon.

The slide occurred near The Dugway, which is about 15 miles up the canyon, according to the Herald Journal. By 4:05 p.m., the newspaper reported that the lanes had reopened.

The Logan-area mountains are at a considerable risk for avalanches on Monday, according to the Utah Avalanche Center. The center's Logan-specific Instagram account reported about 3:25 p.m. that large, natural slides had occurred at lower and middle mountain elevations, including in lower Logan Canyon.

At 4 p.m., the center upgraded the danger level in the lower elevations to high.
