Fog and lingering smog are on tap for the Beehive State.

A lot of Utahns were expected to wake up to a foggy Sunday morning, including in places where low clouds bank into the mountains, according to the National Weather Service. Meteorologists predicted the fog would burn off by mid-day Sunday.

Moderate air quality will linger Sunday and Monday across much of Utah, including Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Duchesne, Salt Lake, Uintah, Utah and Weber counties, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.

There is a moderate risk of avalanches on Sunday and Monday across most of the state — except for the Moab and Abajo mountains, where the risk is considerable, according to the Utah Avalanche Center.

Salt Lake City can expect highs in the mid 40s and lows in the mid 20s. St. George can expect highs in the mid 50s and lows around 30 degrees.
