A minivan slid on snow- and ice-packed Interstate 15 in downtown Salt Lake City early Friday, colliding with two snowplows as well as a nearby Utah Highway Patrol vehicle.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said no one was injured in the 5 a.m. accidents, which occurred where the trooper's vehicle has stopped to block northbound I-15 traffic near 600 North, the scene of an earlier semi-trailer rig crash.

The white Dodge Caravan went out of control as it approached, first hitting the blade of one snowplow, then the trooper's cruiser, and finally the second snowplow.

The plows were waiting to clear away snow once the earlier accident scene had been cleared.

The incidents were among dozens of crashes and slideoffs that occurred during Friday morning's commute on Utah's interstates in the wake of light snow that dusted already icy roadways.
