An altercation between two flight attendants during a Jan. 22 flight from Los Angeles to Minneapolis led to an unscheduled stop in Salt Lake City.

The Aviation Herald first reported the incident, writing: "two flight attendants disagreeing over work issues engaged in a fist fight."

The Herald reports that three of the Boeing 757's crew members — including one who had tried to calm down the other two — were sent off after the captain diverted the flight to Salt Lake City. The flight was ultimately delayed 75 minutes, The Herald reports.

Delta said in a statement emailed to The Tribune that it apologizes to customers who were inconvenienced by the unscheduled stop.

"The actions of these crew members in no way reflect the values and professionalism we expect from all of our employees."

In addition to letters of apology that passengers were given after landing in Minneapolis, SkyMiles members received miles and non-members received travel vouchers.
