A 24-year-old Kaysville woman died en route to the hospital from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident Thursday morning on Interstate 15 near Clearfield.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said Wanona Riggs's Jeep Cherokee went out of control about 9 a.m. on northbound I-15 at 650 North, crashing and rolling down an embankment on an on-ramp.

Riggs, who not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

"Light snow falling at the time could have been a contributing factor," Royce said.

The accident, which restricted traffic through the crash site for about four hours, was under investigation.
