Salt Lake City International Airport is now offering premium reserved parking — but it is pricey.

For $50 a day, travelers have access to 71 reserved parking spaces in the airport's parking garage that are the closest to terminals. They have their own dedicated entry lane, plus concierge service with personalized staff assistance and travel accessories.

"The premium reserved parking option provides customers with the quickest, most convenient parking experience available, with spaces located just steps from the security checkpoints," said airport director Maureen Riley.

The spaces are in an area that became available when the airport closed the garage's drive-through passenger pick-up and drop-off lane in October because of construction for a new terminal.

The airport said it believes the reserved parking will be popular with business travelers. Reserved spaces include three that are accessible for the disabled, and nine can accommodate oversized vehicles.

Travelers may make a reservation in advance by going to http://www.slcairport.com/parking and using the "click and park" option. Customers then receive a "quick response" code that allows entry into the reserved parking area.

"Our initial launch of the program has been very successful and we are excited to offer this amenity to our passengers," Riley said.
