The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a Sandy man killed when his pickup truck veered off Interstate 80 and crashed into a freeway abutment near Lambs Canyon.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said that 66-year-old Terrance J. Huffman was found dead at the scene of the 8:07 p.m. Wednesday accident near mile post 137.

Huffman was westbound when his white 2003 GMC Sonoma went off an overpass, plunged into the median and then went airborne over the Lambs Canyon Road before crashing into the concrete abutment and coming to rest on its roof.

What factors may have led to the accident remained under investigation.
