The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a West Valley City man who died when his pickup truck collided with another vehicle Tuesday on Highway 40 near Heber City.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said that Timothy T. Ferderber, 44, was driving the white Chevrolet Tahoe that apparently failed to stop at a stop sign on the East Airport Road. Ferderber then attempted to make a left turn into the path of a red Dodge Ram pickup traveling east on the highway about 5:20 p.m.

Ferderber was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ram pickup, Darwin J. Harding, 56, of Fruitland, was transported to the Heber Valley Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Royce said.
