A 35-year-old man was injured in a shootout that broke out late Friday at a party in West Jordan.

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and underwent surgery at Intermountain Medical Center and is expected to recover, West Jordan police Officer Nelson Vargas said. He said the shooting is believed to be gang-related.

Dispatchers received multiple calls at 11:50 p.m. of shots fired in the vicinity of 7000 South and 1300 West, Vargas said. Surveillance video at an apartment complex shows the victim exchanging fire with several others and the participants speeding away, he said.

The shooting was under investigation.
