Though the weather on Thanksgiving will be mild, gusty canyon winds and possibly snow will be coming to Utah this weekend.

The high temperature in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas is expected to reach 37 degrees Thursday, and skies will be clear. But by the evening, the National Weather Service expects high winds across the northern Wasatch Front. The winds, expected through Friday morning, will hit especially hard in Logan, Weber and Farmington canyons — with expected gusts between 40 and 50 mph — and Parleys Canyon likely will see gusts from 30 to 40 mph. The weather service advises residents who live near those canyons to secure their outdoor decorations and furniture.

The high temperatures are expected to hover in the mid-30s through the weekend in Salt Lake City, and a 30 percent chance of snow is expected.

In St. George, temperatures will peak in the mid-40s through the weekend. A slight chance of rain and snow is possible on Friday night.
