The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in an assault that occurred on Halloween night in the parking lot of the Red Lion Hotel.

The two victims confronted a group of people that were near their vehicle in the parking lot. Words were exchanged and a physical altercation ensued.

The suspects were described as a five or six black males and a Hispanic male.

The suspect who threw the first punch was wearing a blue Washington Nationals hoodie, with a white Halloween mask propped up on top of his head and black pants.

One of the victims was knocked unconscious during the altercation. The other victim required facial surgery as a result of the injuries suffered during the altercation.

The fight was purportedly sparked by a Confederate flag decal on the pickup truck of one of the victims.
