Windy weather — and a small chance of snow — is expected Wednesday in many parts of Utah.

The National Weather Service expects strong winds to develop Wednesday across far northeast Utah and southwest Wyoming, with winds peaking during mid-morning to early afternoon. It's expected that winds between 30 to 40 mph may hit the area, with gusts over 55 mph expected. In the high Uintas, gusts could reach over 75 mph, so it's advised that travelers use caution in those areas.

In Salt Lake City, the high temperature is expected to reach 42 degrees on Wednesday. There is a 20 percent chance of morning snow, which will likely turn to rain by the afternoon. A chance of rain continues through the work week, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-40s Thursday and Friday. By the weekend, the weather is expected to be sunny and high temperatures will reach the mid-40s.

In St. George, the high temperature on Wednesday is expected to be 58 degrees. A high of 59 degrees is expected Thursday, and temperatures will like reach 62 degrees by Friday. A sunny weekend with highs in the low to mid-60s is predicted for the area.
