A winter weather advisory was in place across most of Utah on Monday morning, with rain falling in the valleys along the Wasatch Front and snow at higher elevations.

The advisory is in place until 10 p.m., with snow accumulation totals between 7 and 14 inches predicted to fall in the Wasatch mountains and western Uintas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A wind advisory was also in place, with gusts of up to 40 mph expected, the NWS said.

Similar wind and winter weather advisories were also was also in effect for central and southwest Utah until 4 p.m., with as much as 6 inches of snow expected along Interstate 15 between Fillmore to Cedar City, the NWS said.
