Unified Police arrested nine people during a late night raid on a Taylorsville business.

UPD Detective Ken Hansen said the bust just after 10 p.m. Wednesday culminated an ongoing investigation into complaints about alleged gambling and drug use at the Digital Toyz store, 2588 W. 4700 South.

Detectives contend that employees had been involved in "renting" time on their computers for "customers ... to play games of chance. If customers win, they are paid in cash by the store clerk. The customers pay in advance to rent the computers," Hansen said.

Four of those arrested were cited for gambling and released.

Four others were arrested for outstanding warrants or drug possession and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

The ages of those arrested range from 23 to 59; six were men, three were women.
