Salt Lake City firefighters had to use a ladder truck to help a woman stuck high up in a tree.

On Wednesday, the 67-year-old woman was cutting branches in a cottonwood tree with a chainsaw, near 500 N. Arctic Court (1265 West), when her foot got stuck in a branch, said Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay. She was trapped about 40 to 50 feet up the tree.

She called for help, and her neighbors called 911 about 12:15 p.m.

Since she was up so high, firefighters extended a ladder from one of their ladder trucks to rescue her, Asay said.

Once her foot was freed, they brought her down and she is "doing fine," Asay said.
