Unified Police say a man installing solar panels in the Millcreek area was killed late Monday morning when he fell through a skylight 30 feet onto a concrete floor.

The fall occurred about 11:05 a.m. at the Keystone Brothers building, 3929 S. 500 West. The man was identified as Larry Nickell, 57.

It was undetermined how the victim came to step on, or fall through the skylight. The chance that a gust of wind caused him to lose his balance was among the possibilities being investigated by UPD and federal workplace safety officials.

UPD Detective Jared Richardson said the man's son-in-law also was working on the roof at the time of the fall. He and another worker at the scene began CPR, but paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
